Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin on Monday ordered to ground the corps' felt of Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters following a series of severe malfunctions, Channel 12 News reported.
The "Owls," as the helicopters are dubbed in the IAF, will not take part in any training exercises or cargo flights until further notice, but if need be, will take part in operational missions, the military said.

Most recently, one of the helicopters experienced a malfunction described by an IAF official as a "near-disaster" while IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi was on board.
