This week, nurse Sahar Natour of Clalit Health Services' community care department for Haifa and the western Galilee arrived at the home of a 116-year-old patient to administer the first flu shot of Israel's 2020-21 winter season.
The recipient, Hassan, was born in 1904. He fathered six boys and five girls with his first wife, and has 60 grandchildren. His current wife, who is caring for him, is only 59, and bore him another son and daughter at a relatively late age.

Hassan's family report that despite his great age and medical conditions, he is mentally acute and fully aware of what is taking place around him. As of a few months ago, he was still able to run errands and get to medical appointments independently.
