Haim Bibas, the mayor of the central Israel city of Modiin and chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel, announced Monday that he plans to enter national politics with one goal in mind: becoming prime minister.

Speaking with Channel 12 News, Bibas said, "I believe that I will soon find myself making an impact on the national level."
Bibas stressed that while he sees the Likud party as his political home, "Right now, chances of shuffling the [party's Knesset] list are nonexistent. Everything will happen in due time."
