State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman report into the handling to the coronavirus crisis has found that the number of people exposed to the virus who were found by the phone tracing was three-times higher than those detected using traditional contact tracing methods.

According to the report, the Shin Bet security agency was able to detect 394,701 corona patients, while Health Ministry's epidemiological investigations found 132,762 patients.
However, the Shin Bet's contact tracing was not free of "false positives": 62% of the appeals filed to the Health Ministry over orders to enter quarantine in July and August were accepted, the report said.
Englman urged both the Shin Bet and the Health Ministry to improve their contact tracing systems.
