The Beersheba District Court sentenced an Israeli man from the western Negev to seven years in prison and a hefty fine for doing business with Hamas.
Michael Peretz was convicted six months ago for smuggling goods into the Gaza Strip that required permits from Israeli authorities. According to the prosecution in his case, Peretz knew that one of the Gaza-based traders with who he was in contact handed the smuggled goods to Hamas.
