Or Akiva Mayor Yaakov Edri, who is facing a slew of corruption charges, is also suspected of rape and other sex crimes. Edri has denied all the charges against him.
The former Likud MK was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of having committed a series of offenses, including bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

The police believe that Edri had also perpetrated a series of violent sex crimes against female employees, including rape.
Much of the case has been placed under a gag order, which expired on Wednesday. It is believed that the police did not seek to extend th media embargo in a bid to encourage more women to come forward.
