Opposition Leader Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) on Tuesday welcomed Blue and White leader Benny Gantz's decision to present Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with an ultimatum that is likely to trigger early elections.
"Israel needs a government that will come to work," Lapid twitted. "A lean and efficient government that is only concerned with real life. With real problems. The small businesses, the unemployed, the health. Not in politics, not in corruption and not in press conferences."

The Likud slammed Gantz's move, saying that "Gantz's speech against the prime minister and the Likud is the beginning of his election campaign.
"While the Likud works only for the public in handling the coronavirus crisis, Blue and White works only so Benny Gantz would become the prime minister. They disperse the Knesset [Israel Parliament] and dissolve the government, all while harming Israeli citizens, for a political whim," the statement read.
