A statement from Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh's office said the measure will be extended to the greater areas of Nablus, Bethlehem, Tulkarem, and Hebron.
The one-week lockdown will bar all nonessential traffic in these areas. The rest of the West Bank will be subject to a strict curfew, Ramallah said.
