Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Thursday announced in a televised statement the imposition of a two-week lockdown across the West Bank, due to a dramatic rise in coronavirus cases across the territory.

A nighttime curfew already in place will also be extended and will be enforced from 6 p.m.
Shtayyeh said all schools and universities will close as of Sunday. Public and private transport will be banned between the 11 communities, except for medical staff from Thursday evening.
Sports halls, hairdressers, restaurants and cafes will also be closed.
The prime minister added that all government offices that would be allowed to operate could only do so at 30% of their capacity. .
