Israel's cabinet is scheduled to convene at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the spread of COVID, and the Health Ministry plans to recommend a full, immediate lockdown, including businesses and schools.
"We missed the boat for rigorous restrictions – a lockdown is the only option," Health Ministry Yuli Edelstein said Wednesday while touring a retirement home in Ganei Tikva.

Some ministers might ask that kindergartens and lower elementary grades in communities graded green or yellow under the Health Ministry's stoplight plan be allowed to stay open.
