A man in his 20 was killed Sunday and another man sustained critical injuries following a shooting on their vehicle while they were traveling on Highway 6, in central Israel. The incident is believed to be criminal in nature.

The shooting took place despite the fact the two, who had been under protective custody, were in a car that received a police escort.
The police are canvassing the area for suspects in the shooting. Paramedics rushed the injured to the Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva. Doctros pronounced one of the men dead soon after he was addmitted. The other remians in the intesive care unit.
