After personal information about 140,000 confirmed COVID carriers was transferred to the Shin Bet security agency without the carriers being notified, as required by law, MK Zvi Hauser on Thursday contacted Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and expressed his disapproval of the incident, saying, "It's a shame the matter is being handled in such an incomprehensible mess."

Hauser, chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, asked for more details about the error, which went on for approximately one month but was only identified on Thursday.
The Health Ministry informed Hauser that it intended to retroactively inform some of the carriers that their personal information had been submitted to the Shin Bet.
