An IDF soldier whose weapon was stolen last week in an ambush while on duty in Israel's north has been cleared of any wrongdoing by military investigators.

The Military Police said that the soldier, who was lightly injured in the incident, attempted to fend off his attackers and followed protocol – given the circumstances.
The attack was condemned by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, who said the suspects had "crossed a red line."
