The dozens of tons' worth of aid delivered by plane to the Indira Gandhi International Airport is the first batch in a larger assistance project, the ministry said.
"In the coming days, more planes are expected to leave Israel for Delhi with tons of medical equipment," the statement asserted.
The shipments will include various kinds of medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators and respirators, as well as medicines.
The first batch of Israeli aid comes as India works to contain its massive COVID-19 outbreak, with new cases and fatalities mounting by the day.
