Israel's Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi David Lau met over the weekend with UAE Ambassador to Israel Mohamed Mahmoud Al Khaja.

The ambassador expressed the respect the UAE feels towards the Jewish religion and its devout orthodox believers, and also extended a formal invitation to Lau to visit the United Arab Emirates.
Lau discussed with al-Khaja the issue of rising antisemitism worldwide, saying that all global leaders must unite in making clear that violence cannot be tolerated in the name of any religion. He further expressed his appreciation for the UAE's unwavering stance as a country that respects all beliefs equally while preventing radical religious sects from engaging in violence on its soil.
