The Jerusalem parade is a controversial event that often meets with protests by the city's ultra-Orthodox residents. Threats to harm participants are often made by religious extremists, one of whom murdered 16-years-old Shira Banki during the 2015 parade.
This year's event will begin with a ceremony honoring Banki.
The Jerusalem District Police has deployed some 3,000 officers along the parade's route, closing off surrounding roads.
