The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial evidence suggests it may have been set nationalistic motives, although all leads are currently being pursued.
Hundreds of firefighters battled the massive blaze for hours on Wednesday before it was brought to heel.
Forest fires raged Har Haruach outside the city and spread to nearby communities Neve Ilan, Kibbutz Maaleh Hachamisha, Abu Ghosh, and other locations, fueled by the hot and dry June weather and strong winds.
Another fire scorched over 17 acres of flora near Ariel. Here, too, the investigation is pointing to arson terrorism, which has again reared its head across Judea and Samaria.
