The Prime Minister's Office said Tuesday that if the UN General Assembly convenes this year, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Prime Minister-designate Yair Lapid, who is also the foreign minister, will both represent Israel.

It is unclear at this time whether the UN General Assembly will convene for its annual summit in the fall over the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 Assembly was held as a virtual conference, rather than a physical one, due to the global pandemic.
If the general assembly does convene, it is likely to be subject to various public health restrictions, including limiting the number of people in each visiting diplomatic mission.
