According to media reports, Hamad was riding a motorcycle through Tel Aviv when another motorcyclist began tailing him. The rider then opened fire, hit Hamas, then fled the scene.
Paramedics called to the scene said the victim was found lying on the road and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Attempts to resuscitate him failed and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police sources said Hamad was well known to law enforcement as a senior figure in the Jaffa underworld and had an extensive criminal record, including for violent offenses.
Two of the crime families operating in Jaffa have been feuding for years. The animosity has claimed the lives of 15 people thus far, including four of Hamed's brothers, the police said.
