The Yahal Center, a counseling and guidance center for families for the mentally challenged, will make World Schizophrenia Day, observed on July 25, with a special virtual symposium focusing on the struggles of patients' families.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder affecting more than 21 million people worldwide. The conference is designed to raise awareness of the characteristics of the disorder and the difficulties that accompany it, along with coping with it and the hope for better integration into the community.
Dr. Ram Kamin, a specialist psychiatrist and director of the emergency department at the Center for Mental Health in Beersheba, said, "It is important to start treatment as early as possible and to be consistent. The earlier the treatment begin, the better the chance for a good life."
