Online financial payment giant PayPal announced Monday that it will allow users in the UK to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrencies through its payment platform, adding that the service will be available via the PayPal app and its website.

Users will ld be able to choose between four types of cryptocurrency – bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, and bitcoin cash, PayPal said.
The news sent Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by overall, soaring to $50,440 – its highest level since May 15. Monday's value represents a 4% jump in 24 hours.
Paypal introduced its cryptocurrency feature in the US last year. The UK is the second market globally where the servies has been launched.
