Baccara star Maria Mendiola passed away at the age of 69 on Saturday morning in Madrid.

Mendiola was widely recognized for duo Bacarra's 1977 hit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie," which sold millions of copies and reached No1 in the UK.
Cristina Sevilla, the other half of Baccara duo, announced the sad news on their Instagram page.
"My dear Maria, a wonderful artist but above all my friend, has left us today. I cannot articulate the words. I can only give thanks for so much love I have received from her, and tell her what I had the opportunity to say so many times in life: I love you," wrote Sevilla.
