Thanks to an undercover agent who used to be a member of an Israeli criminal organization but changed sides, a three-month investigation led to the arrest of 16 individuals suspected of various criminal activity, including the leader of a criminal organization in Ashdod, the Israel Police reported Monday.

The suspects hail from Ashdod, Ramle, and the Bedouin population of the Negev.
Police handlers sent the undercover agent to carry out several deals. The agent acquired two illegal guns, weapons, and drugs that included crystal meth, MDMA, and large amounts of marijuana.
Police conducted raids on the suspects' homes and found homemade weapons as well as drugs.
