In a strongly worded letter to the UN Security Council chief on Thursday, Iran issued a direct warning to Israel against any military attack on the country's rapidly advancing nuclear program.
The warning comes a day after Foreign Minister Yair Lapid announced that Israel "reserves the right" to take a military approach in order to prevent Iran's from obtaining a nuclear bomb.

"We warn the Zionist regime against any miscalculation or military adventure targeting Iran and its nuclear program," Iran's Ambassador to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi wrote in the letter.
Furthermore, he called Israel's latest threat "alarming", asserting that it is proof that the country is responsible for alleged attacks against Iran's nuclear program.
On Wednesday, Lapid had alluded to the notion of military intervention when he said, alongside US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, that "other options are going to be on the table if diplomacy fails." Blinken added that "time is running short," and while the US continues to believe that "diplomacy is the most effective way", the administration is "prepared to turn to other options if Iran doesn't change course."
On Thursday, Enrique Mora, the EU envoy responsible for the coordination of talks on the deal, had a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baghera in Tehran.
