Prime Minister Naftali Bennett locked horns with the Likud on Sunday afternoon due to remarks he made about the opposition shortly before taking off for the United Nations climate change summit in Glasgow, Scotland.

"Israel's international standing is getting stronger by the day," Bennett said from the tarmac. "While we work to bring prestige to Israel in Glasgow, at home we are entering a wonderful week that will peak with the state budget vote. Once the bill is approved, it will buy the government many more years of stability and will break the opposition into smithereens."
Bennett went on to accuse the opposition of "desperately" trying to undermine the coalition's efforts to approve the state budget.
"That is why are expecting next week to be full of fake news. There is nothing they won't do to torpedo the budget. [But] the state budget will be approved because the country is in need of leadership," the prime minister said.
In response, the Likud issued a statement, saying "The only thing that is being torn apart is Bennett's public standing that continues to disintegrate. Bennett does not even pass the electoral threshold."
The Likud was referring to a recent survey by Direct Polls in which Yamina only garnered two Knesset seats, failing to achieve the minimum four-seat electoral threshold.
In Glasgow, Bennett is scheduled to give an address at the summit. He will also meet with President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez and Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi.
