The state of emergency, the result of increased fighting in Ethiopia, prompted the Foreign Ministry to warn that Israelis who choose to visit Ethiopia could experience restrictions to flights, movement, and access, as well as communications and shortages of goods.
"The Foreign Ministry recommends that Israeli citizens who are planning to travel to Ethiopia consider avoiding non-necessary travel at this time," a ministry statement said.
The ministry also suggested that Israelis already in Ethiopia consider shortening their stays. In any case, the ministry said, Israelis in Ethiopia should be on the alert and keep abreast of developments.
