A special food stand for security forces in the Jordan Valley regional army base will be inaugurated on Tuesday. The Pina Chama ("Warm Corner") will be located in Mitzpe Yericho, and is the first of its kind in the Jordan Valley area, according to organizers. It will bear the memory of Bruria (Getz) Francis, who worked at the Ministry of Religious Services (under the auspices of the Prime Minister's Office) and was an active partner in the establishment and development of Mitzpe Yericho.

"Bruria Francis was a polymath; she was a devoted mother to her six children, a beloved grandmother deeply involved in the day-to-day lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, an adored sister and dedicated wife, a caring aunt who spread joy and love in good and difficult times, and a loyal friend," the organizers said in a statement. "She was a kind and charitable woman; she loved people, supported Torah scholars, and dedicated long years to her beloved husband Rafi Francis, who served as an IDF company commander in the Jordan Valley Brigade."
As the daughter of Rabbi Meir Yehuda and Esther Getz, who went through the painful bereavement of two sons in terrorism and war, "Bruria actively supported widows and orphans, and had a special sensitivity to human pain and suffering," the organizers said. Finally, the stand will serve as "an apt commemoration of her limitless compassion and giving," they noted, stressing that it will be operated by volunteers.
