While unemployment in Israel drops, the number of available jobs continues to increase, with the Central Bureau of Statistics reporting that in December 2021 there were 141,037 jobs available, a slight uptick from the 140,897 jobs open in November 2021.

For October-December 2021, the most job listings were for software engineers, with each month seeing an average of close to 17,000 listings.
According to the CBS, the Israeli high-tech sector is also suffering a shortage of some 13,000 software developers. Demand for developers is up 94% compared to what it was pre-COVID.
The jobs with the third and fourth-most positions available for the months cited were sales and waitstaff/bartenders.
