The Israeli Fire and Rescue Services raised their alert levels on Tuesday, citing the heatwave and security tensions.

The department fears wildfires in the Jerusalem Mountains and across Judea and Samaria as wind conditions and the dry heat make these areas prone to fire.
Security escalations of recent years have also seen a slew of arson attempts in these areas. The IFRS is troubled by the possibility that arson, combined with the weather conditions, could make for a particularly dangerous combination.
Fire department data shows that 25% of the fires extinguished in the area last year were the result of arson.
