Police suspect that the four workers snatched the woman from her home because her husband owed them some 250,000 shekels ($77,226).
Police acted on a tip and found the woman. A search of the suspects' car discovered gloves and rope. The four suspects were brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court for a remand hearing on charges of abduction, accessory to a crime, extortion by threat, and extortion and abduction leading to grievous bodily harm.
"This is a major event of a person being abducted for the sake of extortion," a representative of the police told the court.
The judge ruled that there were grounds to believe the suspects had perpetrated the crimes of which they were accused, and extended their remand by four days.
