Longtime Kan anchorwoman Geula Even announced her resignation from the public broadcaster on Sunday. Even, who is married to New Hope leader Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar, was repeatedly embroiled in issues of conflict of interests and while she and Kan 11 News deflected them successfully, the Nov. 1 elections again pushed the issue front and center.

"This morning I informed the Public Broadcasting Corporation of my resignation. I have always believed in public broadcasting and for 30 years I have maintained my loyalty to it, undertaking an uncompromising commitment to professionalism for the sake of viewers. Unfortunately, I was not given the proper professional opportunity to continue doing this. A woman is far more than the man she married," Even tweeted.
Kan issued a statement saying, "The Broadcasting Corporation regrets the resignation of Geula Even-Sa'ar, one of the most senior, professional and best anchors in the Israeli media. Her achievements in public broadcasting, her presentation qualities, and her skills as an interviewer characterized her throughout her career with us. Her contribution to the Broadcasting Corporation since its inception was unique and significant, and she was an integral part of the Kan family. We wish her great success in the future."
