Operation Breaking Dawn, an extensive Israeli counterterrorism campaign against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, may push Likud and Labor to postpose their primaries, set ahead of the Nov. 1 elections.

Labor has set its internal elections for Aug. 9, while Likud members are supposed to cast their votes on Aug. 10.
Insiders in both parties said that the final decisions on the issue will be made closer to the actual dates, in the hope the IDF will conclude the campaign by that time.
