Syrian state media accused Israel of an airstrike on Thursday in the central Syrian province, in which two civilians were wounded.

The reports said Syria's air defense systems shot down some of the missiles coming from over the Mediterranean Sea before they hit their targets. There were no reports of fatalities and no comment from Israel.
A Syrian opposition war monitor – the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights – said the airstrikes targeted Iran-backed militias' positions and warehouses in the area.
Earlier in August, the Syrian military attributed another attakc to Israel in which three soldiers were killed and three others wounded in a missile attack on western and central Syria Sunday night.
In July, Syria blamed another attack – near Damascus – on Israel in which three soldiers were killed and seven wounded.
