Visitors from the US future will now be able to purchase the service as soon as they arrive in Israel and surf locally without a physical SIM card.
The new service includes several packages starting at 59 shekels ($16) and includes call minutes, SMS, access to selected apps, and unlimited browsing, depending on the type of package. It also includes support via WhatsApp – bot in English, phone service in Hebrew – when the packages are purchased through the Pelephone website using a foreign credit card only.
"Our new eSIM is a convenient technological solution at an attractive price for tourists who come to Israel and want to connect easily and quickly to the local network," said Dror Bahat, VP of Marketing at Pelephone. "We are expected to expand the service also to tourists from other countries according to the demand we will see in the future".
