Dafna and Ela Elyakim saw their father shot and their new 'brother' being used to lure out neighbors before being kidnapped into Gaza. Their mother, Ma'ayan Zin, talks about them on video.
"I have two stunning girls – both born from IVF. Ela is in third grade, and Dafna is in 10th grade. She started high school. Their father, Noam, his partner, Dikla, and her 17-year-old son, Tomer, were taken hostages in their own home at Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
"My daughters are just little girls. all they care about is TikTok and laughing, and Dafna cares about boys and makeup.
"I saw there were missile alerts at Nahal Oz. I texted Noam as usual, like every other time there are sirens in Nahal Oz. I asked if they went into the safe room, if Ela is calm, since she tends to panic and get hysteric/ He replied they were in the safe room, he was very brief. Later I called Dikla's eldest son, and then he told me there's a video in their house in Nahal Oz, where you can see my ex husband bleeding and my daughters stressed. There is more in that video, which I won't talk about since it's very disturbing. It shows Tomer with a rifle pointed at him – they used him and sent him to go to every house in Nahal Oz to shout in Hebrew that for people to come out and open the doors, and he's seen inside a neighbor's house while they're shooting one of the girls, a really good friend of Dafna. They slaughtered people in front of their parents, their younger siblings, and used a child, and that's it.
"Then, after 14:00, my sister called me and told me Dafna was kidnapped into Gaza, and I opened WhatsApp and saw a photo of Dafna sitting on a mattress with a writing in Arabic. Later I got the second photo, showing Ela with an injury to her arm. Dafna is wearing different clothes. It's nerve wrecking – I don't know what they've done to her, I don't know who changed her clothes. She's 15, beautiful, stunning, she has captivating eyes.
"This dress is a dress Dafna made for me – that's why I'm wearing it. Dafna was the last to wear this dress, so I wear it all the time, and this cup Ela bought for me. It's a glass (showing 'Mum #1, I love you'). I want them to know they're giving me strength and I transfer it to them.
"I want my daughters back, sooner rather than later."
