An IDF spokesperson announced on Saturday evening that the military has located several bodies during combat operations in the Gaza Strip.

"At this stage, forces are still operating in the area and conducting a process to extract and identify the bodies, which will take several hours. We ask to refrain from spreading rumors," the spokesperson stated.
In the hours preceding the announcement, rumors had begun circulating on social media regarding details of the recovery operation amid speculation that this could be related to hostages being found.

About a week ago, Israeli forces managed to extract 6 bodies of captives taken from kibbutzim on Oct. 7, including one whose fate was not previously known.
