A 30-year-old man was killed and another man, in his 50s, critically wounded Thursday when a projectile fired from Lebanon scored a direct hit on a six-story building in Nahariya in northern Israel. A person with light injuries and two others suffering from acute stress reactions were also evacuated from the scene by rescue teams.

Reports came in of several additional impact sites across the city, where eight more people were treated for light injuries or acute stress reactions. In response, rescue and security forces were scrambled to the scenes, and a casualty collection point was established.

Magen David Adom EMT Roi Shechter said, "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a direct-hit site with structural damage and extensive destruction. There was a great deal of chaos. Together with the security forces on the ground, we conducted sweeps to locate additional casualties. We provided medical treatment to a large number of injured. We are evacuating them to the hospital and continuing our sweeps of the area."

MDA paramedic Omri Gorga said, "The moment we received reports of an impact, we deployed in large numbers. I arrived at the scene within minutes and saw extensive destruction, smoke, shattered glass, and chaos. I immediately began providing medical treatment to a number of wounded who were at the scene. MDA forces that arrived set up a treatment and casualty collection point. We began treating a man of about 50 in serious condition and another casualty of about 30 in critical condition. MDA teams are continuing to sweep the sites, treat the wounded across all injury categories, and evacuate them to hospitals."

MDA senior EMT Gil-Ad Benchamo added, "The moment we received reports of an impact, we deployed in ambulances, intensive care vehicles, and MDA motorcycles. We arrived at the scene within minutes and saw destruction, smoke, and chaos. We treated a number of wounded at the scene and are continuing to provide medical treatment as needed, evacuating them to the hospital."
