The IDF Spokesperson cleared for publication Sunday that Sgt. Idan Fox, 19, of Petah Tikva, a fighter in Battalion 77 of the "Saar Magolan" Brigade, was killed in combat in southern Lebanon.
Fox was killed during operational activity in the sector after an explosive UAV – a suicide drone – launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organization detonated near the force. In the same incident, a combat officer and three additional fighters were seriously wounded. A fifth fighter sustained moderate wounds, and a sixth sustained light wounds. The wounded were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families were notified.
During the incident, two additional explosive drones were launched at the forces. One was intercepted; a second drone landed near the forces during the evacuation of the wounded, causing no further casualties. Following the incident, IDF forces struck terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon using artillery fire and airstrikes.
