The pro-Iranian channel Al-Mayadeen reported Sunday night that a new framework is being discussed in Iran that could lead to a resumption of negotiations – provided the US accepts it.
According to the report, the framework is premised on a permanent halt to fighting on all fronts, with a particular focus on Lebanon. In the second phase, the parties would discuss the Strait of Hormuz, and in the third phase, they would address the nuclear program.

The channel – which is closely affiliated with Hezbollah – further reported that the Iranian regime had informed mediators of the negotiating framework, which comprises three stages and is contingent on Washington's approval.
It was also noted that the first phase would focus on ending the war and securing guarantees that hostilities would not resume in Lebanon or Iran. In that same phase, Tehran has no interest in addressing any other issue. If agreement is reached, the parties could proceed to the second phase and discuss how the Strait of Hormuz would be managed, in coordination with Oman. So the report stated.
