The battle over Hezbollah's fortified underground complex on the Ali Taher ridge is at the center of the drama in southern Lebanon.
Israel Hayom has learned that the Iranians pressed for a ceasefire in order to stop the IDF's intensive operation, which is currently encircling the complex where dozens of Hezbollah terrorists are trapped. This is a well-equipped underground city, far more advanced than Hamas' tunnels in Gaza.

Earlier, it was reported that one of the IDF's most significant operations in the sector is now underway in the village of Tibnit in southern Lebanon, opposite that same complex. The IDF describes the infrastructure as highly significant, and even unprecedented.
The IDF assessment is that Hezbollah did not turn to Iran by chance, and that the terrorist organization's calls to stop Israeli military activity in the area stem from fear of damage to one of its most significant power centers in southern Lebanon. The IDF views Tibnit as an area of exceptional importance to Hezbollah, and the operation there as a move targeting a central piece of the terrorist organization's infrastructure.
