Hashomer Hachadash launched a new volunteer initiative in Kiryat Shmona this week. During July and August, groups from across Israel will arrive in the northern city of Kiryat Shmona take part in meaningful volunteer work aimed at helping restore routine life, improving the city's appearance and strengthening the local community.
The activity will include work to improve public spaces, engagement with city residents, community initiatives, support for local businesses and the creation of a meaningful, value-driven experience for participants, as part of the national effort to strengthen Israel's northern border communities and the north as a whole.

The initiative is being held in cooperation with the Kiryat Shmona Municipality, the Settlement and National Missions Ministry and Keren 8. It invites groups of 15 participants or more to join volunteer days that include professional guidance, a shirt and transportation.
"Kiryat Shmona and its residents are a symbol of resilience, pioneering spirit and Zionism," said Yoel Zilberman, founder and CEO of Hashomer Hachadash. "Precisely now, as the city undergoes a process of renewal and return to life, it is our shared responsibility to be there. Volunteering is not only physical assistance, but also a clear message to the residents that they are not alone. We have been with them since the outbreak of the war, and we will be with them at this time as well. Hashomer Hachadash will continue to stand alongside all the communities in the north, strengthen settlement and bring thousands of Israelis to take part in Zionist, value-driven and meaningful action."

Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avichai Stern said, "I would like to thank Hashomer Hachadash for its impressive mobilization and genuine partnership with Kiryat Shmona. The embrace we are receiving from the organization and from volunteers across the country strengthens the residents and gives momentum to the city's renewal process. Together, through joint action and mutual responsibility, we will restore Kiryat Shmona as a strong, flourishing and vibrant city."
