Pop icon Pink reacted to the controversy surrounding the opening act for American rapper Macklemore at British singer Ed Sheeran's concert in a post she shared with roughly 12 million followers on Instagram Sunday night.
Pink shared a reel that had been posted on the "Stop Antisemitism" page, showing a video that was screened to the audience in which a Palestinian flag was raised, with the words "Free Palestine" written in red, during Macklemore's opening set.
"Awful," the caption of the video Pink shared read. "Jewish fans bought tickets to see Ed Sheeran sing last night in NJ, not to be ambushed by Macklemore's anti-Israel propaganda. Instead, Macklemore walked onstage in a keffiyeh, shouted "Free Palestine," accused Israel of a false "genocide," and turned a mainstream event into a political nightmare against the Jewish state. Concertgoers are owed apologies and refunds."
Sheeran's performance in New Jersey has sparked controversy in recent days over Macklemore's offensive opening act. During the performance, Macklemore performed his pro-Palestinian protest song "Hind's Hall," whose lyrics attack Zionism and accuse Israel and its supporters of oppression and violence. The song also invokes allegations of "genocide" in Gaza, as Macklemore energized parts of the stadium crowd, drawing cheers from some of those in attendance.
Imagine paying $500+ to see Ed Sheeran only to be ambushed by Macklemore's relentless anti-Israel obsession.
Yes, the same Macklemore who appeared onstage dressed as an Orthodox Jew, complete with an enormous prosthetic nose.

The audience included numerous Israeli and Jewish fans, Israeli families who had brought young children to what they expected to be an ordinary pop concert. Those in attendance described feelings of profound shock and hurt as what was supposed to be an enjoyable family outing turned, in their eyes, into a hostile and disturbing political spectacle from which there was little escape.
Following the incident, a petition by the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is now calling on Ed Sheeran and the management of his Loop Tour to remove Macklemore from the remaining tour dates. The petition is also directed at the management of stadiums hosting the tour, while the organization is urging the public to contact concert promoter Live Nation directly and demand action.
