The United States has ordered some embassy personnel and their families to leave diplomatic missions in the Gulf region amid concerns that renewed fighting against the Houthis in Yemen would resume, three US officials told Reuters.
The Embassies in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain have received the directive

In addition, US officials told Israel Hayom that the American Embassy in Israel had not received evacuation orders. They stressed that the planned directive was related to the security situation in Saudi Arabia, rather than tensions with Iran.
Earlier, Axios reported that dozens of Israeli fighter jets had conducted a sortie, flying as far as the Iranian border. According to the report, the Israeli aircraft flew over Syria and Iraq, following a flight path consistent with a potential strike against Iran. Israel also informed the US that the operation was a training exercise intended as a show of force and a deterrent, and that it knew Iranian air defense systems would detect the aircraft.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Riyadh issued a security alert Wednesday warning of possible further Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. The warning followed a series of deadly attacks in recent weeks, including strikes in the vicinity of Riyadh's international airport.
