Iranians' anger hasn't subsided; we're just waiting for the push

The regime's authority has been completely demolished and it will not be able to be sustained much longer.

The following is a special column by a woman in Iran. Her details have been withheld

When asked why the protests have stopped, I think the main reason is their extent. People just got tired and frustrated. In actuality, nothing has changed in the way people here think, even after the protest was suppressed.

So, what has changed, nevertheless? I believe that after the protest last year, many lost their fear. The regime's authority has been completely demolished and it will not be able to be sustained much longer. For how long can they stay in power, while relying on murdering people? And every time more citizens are executed, the unrest is exacerbated.

The protest in Iran against the Islamic Republic actually never dies down completely, it only enters a new phase every so often. The republic is currently at its weakest it has been in 44 years and protests will most definitely erupt again. Next time they will be even stronger than before. We are waiting for a new push. People are waiting for the right moment. The people's anger has not subsided at all.

In the meantime, the systems of oppression are getting stranger by the day. For example, now as we approach the one-year anniversary of Mahsa Amini's deadly arrest, it has been discovered that many relatives of those murdered in the protest were arrested without any reason. I assume that this is due to the fear that these events might be repeated. At the same time, the regime also wants to drive a wedge between the various opposition groups.

As for myself, I'm not too disappointed, and the oppression did not affect me, because I'm sure that the results will be clear eventually. I have an opportunity to emigrate, but I love Iran and am not ready to leave the country. I am sure that the situation in Iran will improve, and this is because the general public is more aware of what has been happening here than they were in past years.
