Stability and security or chaos?

There's no point in mincing words on Election Day. The public has to decide whether they want to see Israel thrive domestically and on the world stage or wither in endless negotiations that get us nowhere.

There's no point in mincing words on Election Day. Israel's economy, like the global economy, is facing uncertain times.

The latter has more to do with the coronavirus and a potential socialist Sanders presidency, but the former is very much tied to the results of the March 2, election.

If a Blue and White-led minority government is formed with the external support of the Joint Arab List it will send shockwaves through the Israeli economy. This alone gives Netanyahu ab advantage, as he inspires stability and a sense of security.

The Center-Left government inspires a fear of a diplomatic and ideological collapse in the post-Zionist direction.

The Palestinian Authority and its leader, Mahmoud Abbas, are investing effort to sway Israeli public opinion to undermine Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who for them, is the most unexpected opponent.

In their extortionate political way, the Palestinians know that they can expand their hold west of Jordan and in Israel proper by having Netanyahu removed from power and installing Blue and White leader Benny Gantz and his ilk in his place.

The Jewish public, especially in the Right, seems to be struggling to understand how crucial these elections are. This is not a problem shared by the Arab sector, where the Joint Arab List has been sparing no effort to rally voters.

Recent polls show that the division of blocs is such that, in an unprecedented way, everything depends on Arab Israelis' voter turnout.

High voting numbers for the Joint Arab List would again pose the possibility of indecisive results that spell one thing: a Blue and White-Yisrael Beytenu minority government.

Only the public will determine whether the ballot boxes deliver a definitive result. Those who wish to realize the Trump administration's Middle East peace plan should vote for Likud. Those who feel additional negotiations are necessary and would like to squander the opportunity to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and other strategic areas, should vote for Blue and White leader Benny Gantz.

Some see political parties as spiritual movements. In the case of the Right, voting for far-right Otzma Yehudit party gives a political boon to rivals who are little more than useful idiots. Left-wing voters who prefer to vote for a terrorist-supporting Arab party could reduce Gantz's chances of forming a government.

Netanyahu has succeeded in positioning himself in the conflict of interest between the Arab world and the Palestinians. Middle Eastern leaders would like to see him remain in power because Netanyahu is a pillar of stability in the region.

The Palestinians, Hamas, and Abbas are agents of chaos for Iran and other anti-Israel elements in the world, so they would like to see Netanyahu's downfall.

The Left in Israel has become untrustworthy – we simply do not know what their real intentions are. In it are forces championing the Palestinian cause worldwide. Former diplomats who support Labor to the heads of NGOs who malign Israel in international forums.

Netanyahu has proven that he fulfills his role as one would expect from a national leader: Constantly investing in Israel's ability to defend itself against its enemies abroad while practicing unprecedented liberalism. He is far more liberal that the heads of the judiciary, who yearn for his removal so that, together with Gantz, they could take over the decision-making process in Israel.
