Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with a delegation of 41 Congressional Democrats to Israel, Wednesday.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a longtime Israel ally, is leading the delegation of moderate Democrats, which is set to tour Israel and Judea and Samaria over the coming week.

Delegation members are also scheduled to meet with Blue and White party chief Benny Gantz, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and representatives from Israeli and Arab civil society. They will tour Israel's border with Lebanon and the Golan Heights and visit an Iron Dome missile defense battery and the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum.
Ahead of the trip, Hoyer said he was "pleased to join so many House Democrats in traveling to Israel to reaffirm our support for a critical US ally and to continue learning about the opportunities and the challenges facing Israel and the Middle East.

"Seeing the region firsthand and meeting with key Israeli and Palestinian leaders gives members insights into a region that is vital both to our own national interests and to global security," he said.
In his meeting with the Democrats, Netanyahu descried the misrepresentation of Israel. He lauded Israel's technological achievements, saying, "Israel is a partner to the revolution now taking place in the world. It's a revolutionary era."
Also in attendance at the meeting were Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz and American Israel Public Affairs Committee President Mort Friedman.
Last month, controversial Congresswomen Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) made news when they announced they would be going on a tour of Israel that would focus on the "occupation."
