The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya on Tuesday awarded an honorary doctorate to President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, in recognition of his contribution to the ties between Israel and Cyprus.
Anastasiades was also honored for his support in the inception of the Pafos Innovation Institute, established by IDC Herzliya and the city of Pafos as a training and learning Institute.

The partnership between Israel and Cyprus "has an important geopolitical significance, which will only grow in the coming years," Anastasiades said.
The event was attended by IDF founder and President Prof. Uriel Reichman, President and Interdisciplinary Founder, Cypriot Ambassador to Israel Thessalia-Salina Shambos, alongside several other ambassadors, and Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson, whose donation helped build the Adelson School of Entrepreneurship at the IDC.
