Israel Hayom continues to be the most widely read newspaper in the country, with a substantial lead over rival daily Yedioth Ahronoth, a new survey published Thursday revealed.
Kantar Media's Target Group Index survey, which reviewed media data for the second half of 2019, found that Israel Hayom enjoys an average readership of 30.6% of the general population, compared to Yedioth Ahronoth's 26.9%, giving the former a clear statistical lead.

This is an improvement from 2018 when 29% of the general population read Israel Hayom.
The survey also gave Israel Hayom's weekend edition a lead over Yedioth Ahronoth during the analysis period, with 31% of the readership – up from 30.2% in 2018 – compared to Yedioth's 30.7% weekend readership.
"Israel Hayom continues to lead as the most influential and widely read newspaper in Israel," said Editor-in-Chief Boaz Bismuth. "I'm proud of the talented journalists and staff, who believe that the Israeli public deserves a different kind of journalism."
Among radio listeners, stations operated by public broadcaster Kan, drew 37.7% of radio listeners, compared to 35.6% in 2018. Army Radio dropped to 41.2% from 42.6% in 2018.
The survey was conducted among a representative sample of Jewish adults ages 18 and over.
