The State Attorney Search Committee on Monday recommended that attorney Amit Eisman be appointed for the role.
Eisman, 53, Haifa's District prosecutor and former state attorney deputy, was unanimously chosen by the committee, headed by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, who is also currently filling in as acting state attorney.

Eisman was personally involved in forming the criminal cases against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who now faces trial on corruption charges, which he vehemently denies.
Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn took to Twitter to support the recommended candidate, saying "Attorney Amir Eisman will be an excellent state attorney."
