Dr. Mike Evans, a leading evangelical figure, published an open letter Thursday, lashing out at Israeli politicians, including Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid and Yamina head Naftali Bennett, whose coalition is expected to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after 12 consecutive years in power.

"I've always been thrilled and proud of … Israel," Evans, the founder of the Friends of Zion Heritage Center in Jerusalem, wrote. "But right now, I'm not. I'm horrified. I'm seeing a display that is nauseous. It's sickening for me as a person who has devoted 50 years of my life to build support for the State of Israel."
"Yes, I admit it. Bibi is a flawed man. But that flawed man delivered more peace treaties than any prime minister in Israel's history, more economic prosperity, and transformed Israel into a superpower that's the envy of the world."
Whereas Lapid, Bennett and other members of the so-called "change coalition," Evans charged, are "amateur nobodies" and "clowns" who act as though they were "on the payroll" of US left-wingers senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
